The Healesville Basement

Restaurant and Gallery - Locally sourced produce for our freestyle
Mediterranean menu & a wide variety of Yarra Valley wines.

The Healesville Basement is a family affair. Business owner Janice Vicary Dumbrell, son James and daughter in law Fessoom bring The Basement to life with a celebration of innovation in food, wine and art.

Entrepreneurship and wine are in their blood; Janice’s grandfather planted the vines at Vicarys Winery in New South Wales in 1923. The winery operates to this day. The next generation is building on these family traditions of food, wine and creativity: James is a writer and Fessoom a painter.

You will find The Basement on the Maroondah Highway, at the corner of Church Street in Healesville’s bustling main street. The characterful subterranean space is a stylish spot for meeting, eating and drinking.

You’ll find free parking at the rear, with the entrance to The Basement from Church Street.
